Dyslexia Workshop-PRIMARY

Teachers are invited to a workshop to help them gain an understanding of Dyslexia and how to meet the Student’s Needs in the Primary Classroom.

The first part of the Presentation will give teachers a really good understanding of the difficulties that students with dyslexia experience.
The topics covered in the presentation are as follows:
·Spellings
·Reading
·Eye-tracking
·Comprehension
·Sequencing
·Writing skills
·Processing speeds.



The second part of the presentation gives practical advice to primary teachers as to the indicators of dyslexia in students from four to twelve years old.
·Teaching strategies
·Homework
·Well- being
·Transition from primary to post primary are all also explored for the pupil who has dyslexia.
